Hi Fresh Fruit Cleanse friends,

It’s been a while but I will ALWAYS be back.

God knows health and wellness is my passion and my calling in life. You can’t write a book about something if you don’t love it. I love all things health and wellness.

Life with my baby boy is busy but wonderful. He is such a blessing in my life. He has brought so much joy, love, wonder and play to my life again. He is the greatest thing that ever happened to me, besides, being blessed with my parents.

What else, well, I am going to be going through a Fresh Fruit Cleanse again next week. After several months of being stressed in my old job and not eating as consciously and healthily as I prefer to, I am feeling the bloating and excess that needs to be cleansed from my body.

I will go through the Fresh Fruit Cleanse witha friend, as I recommend doingin the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book. It is so helpful to have someone to cleanse with so you feel strengthened and encouraged along the way.

Most of the time when I start out on the Fresh Fruit Cleanse, I like to start out with a realistic and attainable goal of 3 days of cleansing. Then, because I feel so good after those 3 days, and, because I usually have leftovers from all the delicious recipes, I often decide to continue that way of eating for another couple of days to complete 5 days of Fresh Fruit Cleansing. I’m not sure if I’ll go 3 days or if I’ll end up completing 5 days this time, but, the number of days is not what’s most important when cleansing. What’s most important is TO cleanse from timeto time. Even just one day of the Fresh Fruit Cleanse will revitalize and renew you in many ways. However, 3 days will have you feeling awesome and will definitely shed unwanted weight, as well…

I’d like to share this recipe I discovered on facebook today. As many of you know, I suggest incorporating spices, such as, turmeric, into your diet on a regular basis. I’ll be the first to admit, while I was consuming lots of turmeric for a long time, I haven’t been consuming any recently! I’ve decided I must get back to regular consumption of turmeric because I know it’s SO GOOD for me. Check out this website for the many benefits of turmeric: Top 10 Benefits of Turmeric

Here is the recipe for this delicious turmeric milk. If you don’t have time to make your own homemade almond milk, you could also use unsweetened, organic almond milk available at krogers or health food stores. I hope you’ll be inspired to get more turmeric in your life, as well. I will be back soon. Until then, blessings of health, wellness, peace, joy and love to you!

Nourishing Turmeric Milk
by Healthful Pursuit

“Defy age and neutralize free radicals with this dairy-free milk recipe made with soaked almonds, soft medjool dates and loads of antioxidant-rich turmeric.”

Ingredients (4 Serving)

  • 1 cup almonds, soaked for 12-24 hours
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 medjool dates, pits removed
  • 1 tablespoon raw organic honey, optional
  • 1 teaspoon organic turmeric
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

  1. To soak almonds, add to a clean mason jar and cover with water. Cover and refrigerate for 12 hours. Strain and rinse almonds before using in this recipe.
  2. Add almonds and 4 cups of water to the jug of your high-powered blender. Blend on high for 1 minute.
  3. Strain with a nut milk bag by pouring the mixture through the bag into a clean bowl.
  4. Clean out the jug and transfer the almond milk back to the jug. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
  5. Transfer to a clean mason jar, cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Honey – can assist in the healing of infections, reduce the allergy response, heal wounds, and much more. But, if you are vegan, feel free to omit completely.

Medjool Dates – are loaded with B vitamins (great for your skin + hair)

Turmeric – the more you use, the better. Once you’ve made 1 batch and enjoyed it, see if you can increase to another teaspoon, and another, and another, to find your sweet spot. I like this milk with 2 teaspoons of turmeric but it may be a bit too much for people.

Prep time: 10 mins; Cook time: 12 hrs; Tot time: 12 hrs 10 mins
