Hi Fresh Fruit Cleanse friends…

I hope this post finds you well.  I’m so glad so many of you are finding your way to the Fresh Fruit Cleanse blog.  This will just be a quick post but I’d like to mention a couple of things before I head out of town this Thursday.  I’ll be going away for a few days for a little rest and relaxation.  My birthday is October 9th, so, I’ll be enjoying some time in Mother Nature for a few days as a gift to myself.  It will be nice to get away.

A couple of weeks ago I took a spontaneous road trip.  I do my best to eat healthily when I go out of town and, most often, I succeed.  But, because this trip was a spontaneous get away I didn’t really make the same preparations I normally would.  And, I let myself just go with the flow, which, was also nice for a change.  Can you believe my friend’s family and I went to Steak n’ Shake? I even ate a peanut butter milkshake…it did taste good but I’m glad I don’t eat food like very often.  I hadn’t had anything that ‘unhealthy’ (even though it was deliciously devilish)  in a long time.  I also ate an egg sandwich at a Cracker Barrel restaurant.  I’ve only been to Cracker Barrel one time in my life…but it was 10 years ago.  They do have some healthy options on the menu but because I eat so healthily all the time I let myself indulge a little and I’m glad I did.  It tasted good, but, it also reminded me why I like eating healthily almost all the time.  When I eat something that isn’t as healthy I really notice it afterwards.  After a few days of eating that way I can really see the changes in my body, my skin, my energy level, etc.  The more I eat and drink healthily in my life, the more I realize just how powerful of a medicine food really is…

So, I couldn’t wait to drink the Detox Blast Smoothie when I got back home.  Have you tried the Detox Blast Smoothie in the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book? If you haven’t read the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book, yet, I suggest getting it and drinking this smoothie regularly.  I didn’t even fully realize how incredible this smoothie really is when I wrote the book.  I now drink the Detox Blast Smoothie about 3 -4 times per week.  It makes a big blender full when you make it and sometimes I will drink the whole 24 oz in a day.  I feel so good from this smoothie.  It’s 2 apples, 2 pears, 1 lemon and several other ingredients that make it one of the most beneficial and nutritious sources of food for your health.  The fabulous Kimberly Snyder actually shared this recipe with me.   Before this year, I hadn’t ever consumed a whole lemon, I don’t think, or, at least not that I can remember.  Now I eat about 3-4 whole lemons every week.  Lemons are packed with tons of vitamins and minerals, especially, Vitamin C which has so many awesome  detoxifying and nutritious benefits for you.  Remember, when life gives you lemons put them in your Detox Blast Smoothie, and, rub lemon  juice on your face, before going to bed at night, for healthy skin.  🙂

Is it ok to indulge a little from time-to-time? Of course it is.  But, the Fresh Fruit Cleanse is about giving you a program that you can live by most days of your life with the most nutritious and beneficial food and recipes for you.  Then, you can let yourself live a little and enjoy the foods and treats you love, too.  As I mention in the book, I went to several seminars over many years with some of the most leading health and wellness experts in the world.  Throughout my studies, I learned about an approach to life called the Zig Zag method that I write about in the book.  The Zig Zag method is a way of living and following an optimally healthy plan 5-6 days a week, then, allowing yourself the occasional day to indulge.  I love this approach to life, and, the Fresh Fruit Cleanse is exactly that…a program to support you in realizing the best foods and super foods possible for your body, mind and spirit, and realizing, when you fill yourself with the best foods for you possible, your indulgences from time-to-time, won’t have such a noticeable affect.

In the last year since writing the book, I have made a shift in the way I think about food.  I now think about feeding my cells with the best nutrition possible, rather than just feeding my stomach to be full. This change has led me to giving my body and cells better nutrition.  When your cells are being fed with the healthiest foods with the richest sources of vitamins and minerals possible, like, fruits, vegetables and super foods, you won’t be as hungry because your cells will be filled with everything they need.  Also, besides just being nutritionally nourished, did you know that it is said that fruit is the best food for spiritualizing your body? Of course this makes sense, because, fruit is the food closest to the energy of the sun.  It is packed with Prana (energy/Life Force.)

The other thing I’m loving these days is going to the steam room and sauna.  I used to steam and sauna about 3 days a week.  But, in the last couple years I got out of this wonderful and powerful practice because I moved away from a steam room that was close to me.  Well, I’m happy to say I’ve found a place where I can steam regularly again and I’m really noticing the benefits in how I feel.  It’s also suggested to sweat everyday.  Sweating is so incredibly detoxifying for the body and incredible for the skin, and, for releasing tension on every level.  I love it!  I am feeling so much better now that I have made steaming and going to the sauna a regular practice in my life again.

Also, one last thing I would like to mention…tea.  Are you a tea drinker? I haven’t ever really been a real tea drinker but I’m getting more and more into tea all the time.  I love the store Teavana. Have you been there ever? They have some of the most incredible teas in the world and some wonderful specialty teas like white tea.  White tea is one of the most awesome teas for your health and is full of antioxidants.  Do you remember what antioxidants are? They help to reverse oxidative stress caused by free radicals from unhealthy food we eat and, also, from toxic substances in the environment like pollution, etc.  Basically, antioxidants help to protect your cells.  Anyhow, I just bought this new tea tonight I’ve been wating to try.  It’s called Lavendar Dreams.  And, it’s wonderful.  The people at Teavana have told me it relaxes and soothes and is an excellent bedtime tea for sleeping.  They also said you can put this tea in your bathwater and that is really good for you, also.  When the girls were telling me this a gentleman (who doesn’t even work for Teavana but had a beautiful radiance about him, which, by the way, I’ve noticed all the people working for Teavana have a beautiful radiance about them because they drink tea all the time) said anything you can bathe in you want to drink.  Good advice.  So, I may just be bathing in tea leaves after I drink my tea sometimes.  Sounds lovely.

I will be back to write more soon.  If you have read the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book already I hope you have found lots of beneficial information in it.  Please share with me what you are experiencing…I’d love to hear from you.  If you haven’t read it yet, I hope you will.  I hope you will find it’s an excellent tool for your health and well-being.  Blessings to your health.
